The training for the members of Anadolu Ajansı under the “Media and Civil Society Cooperation for Rights of Refugees” project, was held at Ankara on the 17th of October, 2017. This project was run by IGAM, in partnership with the Journalists’ Association, funded by the European Union Delegation to Turkey.
The training started with presentation of Dr. Neva Öztürk. Öztürk presented about the ‘The Foundation of the Law of Foreigners and International Protection and also Turkey Refugee Law’.
The second presentation of the day was made by OXFAM Turkey Representative, Meryem Aslan under the title of ‘International Humanitarian Aids and Deficiencies’.
The last training before the lunch was given by the President of İGAM, Metin Çorabatır under the title of ‘Development History of Refugee Law and Permanent Solutions’.
Prof. Dr. Murat Erdoğan made a speech about the ‘Syria Crisis and Perceptions’.
The training continued with the presentation called ‘The Programs of UNFPA towards the Refugee Women and Refugee Girls in Turkey’ was made by UNFPA Specialist, Gül Erdost.
The representative of Keçiören Migrant Service Center, Mr. Bülent Avcılar approached the ‘The Role of Local Authorities for the Services to Migrants and Refugees’.
The last training of the day was made by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halise Karaaslan Şanlı under the title of ‘Representation of the Refugees in Media’.
At the end of the event; participants, trainers and project team took a souvenir photo together. The event ended with the certificates given to the participants for their participation in the training.
